Turkey Chili Recipe


  • 2 lbs ground turkey (dark meat)
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1-2 jalapeños, small diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4-6 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 3 + tsp salt (To taste)
  • 1 tbsp chipotle chili powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)Olive oil

Toppings: Sour cream, chopped scallions, cheddar or Mexican shredded cheese, Tostitos scoops chips, corn bread

Step One Coat bottom of a large heavy bottom pot with oil. Step Two Add in chopped onion and peppers. Add in turkey meat and 2 tsp salt. Step Three Break up the meat with a wooden spoon and brown meat. Add in crushed garlic. Add in Chipotle chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, and cumin along with can of kidney beans. Add in the cans of tomatoes, 1 tsp salt, and the chicken broth. Step Four Stir to combine and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
Step Five Serve in a bowl with as many of the toppings as you’d like.
